Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' Balmoral Ships

Named after the Scottish home of the Royal Family, Balmoral is a classically styled ship exuding a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and a warming, home-from-home feel. Capable of carrying up to 1,350 guests in pure comfort, Balmoral is the newest and largest ship in the Fred. Olsen fleet but never feels overcrowded, ensuring those on board always enjoy ample space and receive Fred.’s renowned personal, attentive service.

But despite being the largest in the Fred. Olsen fleet, Balmoral is still small enough to take you through the scenic and winding Fjords of Norway, as well as being able to sail down size restricted European waterways such as the Kiel Canal, ensuring guests on board will benefit from Fred. Olsen's smaller ship experience.

A range of dining options are available on Balmoral, with mouth-watering menus to suit all tastes on offer in the elegant restaurants; and the fantastic selection of bars and lounges are perfect for enjoying a pre-dinner drink, sumptuous afternoon tea and superb entertainment. The Marquee Bar has its very own evening Gin Menu, including a variety of premium gins; while the Observatory Lounge offers spectacular panoramic views from the bow of the ship and a glass dance floor designed for late-night entertainment. The broad spiral staircase at the heart of the ship is one of Balmoral's key features, as is the stunning walkway towards the beautiful Ballindalloch Restaurant, where you can admire photographs and paintings from Fred.’s private collection.

There’s also a comfy pub with occasional live music or comedy, cabaret and shows in the Neptune Lounge, and the serene Atlantis Spa, where guests can treat themselves to a range of treatments from manicures to massages – the perfect holiday indulgence. Balmoral also features two swimming pools and bubbling Jacuzzis, ideal for keeping fit and for relaxing in the sunshine.

B - Superior Ocean View

Around 165 square feet in size, these rooms are located on the Lido Deck 8 and Main Deck 6. Fitted with everything you need for your stay, there’s a picture window too. The bathroom has bath and/or shower, there’s interactive TV, hairdryer and safe. *Rooms 8073, 8075, 8084 and 8086 on the Lido Deck are wheelchair accessible and have a fully restricted window.

J - Superior Ocean View Single

Single travellers can cruise in comfort and style on board Balmoral in one of the ship’s Single Superior Ocean View Rooms. This room is approximately 160 square feet in size and can be found on Lido Deck 8. It has a picture window, a bathroom with bath and/or shower. Facilities include air conditioning, an interactive television, telephone, safe and a hairdryer. All rooms are non-smoking, have 24 hour room service and require a European 2 pin plug (220 volts). Please note rooms 8061 and 8072 have a small balcony.

Run of Superior Outside

This cabin is approximately 165 square feet in size. This grade of cabin has a picture window and a bathroom with bath and/or shower. Facilities include an interactive television.

D - Ocean View

These rooms are approximately 165 square feet in size, and can be found on Atlantic Deck 5 and Coral Deck 4. They have a picture window (with the exception of rooms 5001 - 5008 which have portholes) and a bathroom with bath and/or shower. Facilities include air conditioning, an interactive television, telephone, safe and a hairdryer. All rooms are non-smoking, have 24 hour room service and require a European 2 pin plug (220 volts).

E - Ocean View

It has a picture window and a bathroom with a shower. Facilities include air conditioning, an interactive television, telephone, safe and a hairdryer. All rooms are non-smoking, have 24 hour room service and require a European 2 pin plug (220 volts). Please note that some of the K grades have 2 beds, but are sold as Single Ocean View rooms.

F - Ocean View (Porthole)

This room is approximately 165 square feet in size and can be found on Coral Deck 4 & Marina Deck 3. It has 2 portholes, bathroom with a shower. This cabin is approximately 165 square feet in size. These cabins have a porthole, an en-suite bathroom with shower, and include an interactive television.

G - Superior Interior

Our Superior Interior Rooms are approximately 160 square feet in size and can be found on Lido Deck 8, Bridge Deck 9 and Main Deck 6. These rooms have a bathroom with bath and/or shower. Facilities include air conditioning, an interactive television, telephone, safe and a hairdryer. All rooms are non-smoking, have 24 hour room service and require a European 2 pin plug (220 volts). Please note, rooms 9048, 9056 and 9095 on Bridge Deck have been adapted for use by disabled passengers.

M - Superior Single Interior
